Word of Wisdom:
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV
God is able to take something horrible and use it for good. The supreme example of this is that God took the worst event in the history of the world, the crucifixion of the Son of God, and used it for the salvation of the world. Now is not a time to retreat, but for the Kingdom of God to advance.
In difficult times, we need to stick close to God. Constantly check ourselves with the word of God. Blessed are those who trust in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Again, when heat comes, we would expect the leaves of the tree to dry out and turn brown. Yet because the tree is planted by the water, it sends out roots by the stream and the leaves are always green. The psalmist likens this to the person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. That person will neither fear nor worry when heat comes.
There are times in our life when the ‘heat’ increases. We are tested by difficult circumstances and challenges. If we stay close to the Lord, trusting in him, God is able to turn things upside down. ‘Blessed are those who trust in the LORD, whose confidence is in him’.
TRUST God - he’s in control!
We’re reading Proverbs 18 & Jeremiah 17. God bless and have a wonderful day!
